The world looks cleaner.

-What my daughter said after we went through the car wash. Such a great way way of looking at life.

PROCRASTINATION QUEEN

Found some goodies today:

Anyone up for a game of Photoshop Pong? You pass a photo back and forth and build upon each other's changes. Kinda fun. See some here in this forum. This site also has a whack of forums for digital art anything - photography, web design, illustration, etc.

What does a Devian Tart taste like? Some awesome stuff going on here. I LOVE the colour scheme of the site... might have to use that someday. Also, some people I know should submit their work, like this guy here.

Lit.org - a community for writers. Some of these sites end up being a large collection of teenage angst rants, but once in a while there's something good hiding in the mess.

Like I always say

Americans are from Mars, Canadians from Venus.
Cool article, with a business slant, but points out some of the varying ways we Canucks (I hate that term) live our lives as compared to the Yankees.

10 Dumb Moments in Sci Fi Cinema

Found this article on dumb moments in sci-fi movies. I think the journalist could have found a LOT better moments. If YOU have any favourite dumb moments, leave them as comments.
My recent favourite, from a cartoon I won't mention, was when rocks started floating down a stream. I wouldn't have noticed till my son started howling.

BC Writers

Found a site featuring some well-known BC SciFi authors. I see that some of them are going to be at this year's V-Con, the Science Fiction, Fantasy & Gaming Convention. My sweet friend Lynda Williams will be there this year too. We went last year and had a blast.
Karl from Neo-Opsis will be there too. He was great on some of the panels. If you think you can go down in October, let me know. ROAD TRIP!

Inspiration for writers

Found a funky little site. If you sign up for their newsletter, you get a free e-book, "Inspiration for Writers", by Kristin Tracy. It's kinda cute in it's own amateurish way.

Here's a thought bubble I liked from it, roughly paraphrased:
We all have our excuses of why we're not writing.
-I need to do the dishes.
-Writing doesn't pay the bills.
-I'm not good enough.
We've seen these excuses in every book about writing. I liked the excuse zapper Kristin suggested.
-I will do the dishes after I write for 15 minutes.
-If I keep at, someday writing may pay some bills.
-Every day I get better at writing.

Now those are simple. I'll have to try it on myself and see how big of an argument I can get into. I'll let you know who wins.

Yee-haw!

HEY!! Thanks for coming.
I created this blog for a number of reasons:
-in order for some of my phone-inhibited friends to keep in touch.
-to make myself accountable and provide an outlet as I battle my way through some writing and editing. Have to finish this novella soon.
-to share some great stuff I've come across.

You can leave comments, or if you wish to join as a member, please do so! The more the merrier.
If you find the colour blinding, just hold one hand in front of your eyes as you stab at the keyboard with the other.
