I've just learned there's a DVD out of the entire first season of The Muppet Show. I am so excited. Will have to get one and introduce the kids, who don't know half the Muppets. *shakes head* Sad, sad world we live in.
I'll also be very excited when I find a collection of The Carol Burnette Shows. Any leads anyone?

Long boring story time:

My sister and I have always tormented each other with the "Muh Nuh Muh Nuh" song. You know the one:

Muh nuh muh nuh
Doo doooo doo doodoo
Muh nuh muh nuh
Doo doodoo doo

Ever since we were kids, for years --actually, decades now-- every now and then one of us would say to the other, "When you go to bed tonight, you're going to think of the 'Muh Nuh Muh Nuh' song, and it's going to get stuck in your head, and you won't be able to get to sleep."

It worked every single time.

I came across it on the net a few weeks ago and forwarded it to her for a laugh. She had my (then) month and a half old nephew on her lap when she opened it. He loved it. He still does. Our dad bought him his very first CD "Songs From the Muppet Show" just because it had that song on it. He still loves it and perks right up when he hears 'Muh nuh muh nuh'. My sister has to play the CD constantly for him, or sing it to him herself. It's really quite sweet. (And, perversely, means I get the last laugh. She's cursed with that song for life now!! MWA-HA-HA!)

But we've listened to the entire CD and I'm surprised at how many genuinely good songs they wrote for that show. And they weren't all silly. Some are pretty powerful emotionally.
