Women writers are dull & depressing

Some nitwits in the UK made a comment about the submissions they received from women writers for an anthology. I love the rant in this article.
Whether the editors had a good point or not, I'm not sure, but I'm all for a little uproar. :)

Women writers are dull and depressing. So are men writers. Women writers are also exciting and enthusiastic, etc. The older I get, the more I have to acknowledge there are some differences that might be more intrinsic than I had imagined in my youth. But the way people exaggarate them, or invent them, still makes me ... well, dull and depressing.

I fail to see how Agatha Christie or J.K. Rowling are either dull or depressing. Still less Anais Nin. Susan Sontag. Clamp. Rumiko Takahashi...
